Description and Identification

Caterpillar

They are light brown, with a flat-faced head that has a varied mottling of black, pink, tan, and white. The larvae are capable of mimicking twigs.

Pupa

Once the caterpillars mature, they pupate.

Adult Moth

Sexual Dimorphism: Present but not prominent.

Color and Appearance

When the wings are opened, they range from medium gray to light yellowish-gray with heavy dark gray or black mottling. When the wings are closed, the patterns remain observable.

Average wingspan: 2.3-3.4 cm

Flight pattern: Erratic
