Moths in Idaho
The state of Idaho is home to some really large moths, the Polyphemus moth of the Saturniidae family being one of them. These tan-colored moths with prominent eyespots mostly inhabit the northern part of the state.
When it comes to pests, the common clothes and Indianmeal moths have been infamous for their constant infestations damaging food products and fabric. In 2020, the entire state was troubled due to the outbreak of the Douglas-fir tussock moth severely damaging douglas fir and other trees.
